Privacy Policy

When you use BitConvert, we may collect: uploaded files (temporarily for conversion), usage data (anonymous analytics), account information (email and name via Google), and IP address (for rate limiting and security).

Your data is used for: converting files to PDF, providing and improving services, enforcing usage limits, and communicating about your account.

Anonymous users: files are deleted 3 hours after conversion. Registered users: files are kept until you delete them from your account, and are then deleted immediately. Uploaded source files are deleted as soon as processing finishes. Deletion is permanent: files are removed from our storage, not just hidden, and an automatic sweep removes anything left behind within 15 minutes. Job metadata (IP address, file names) of anonymous jobs is anonymized after 30 days.

BitConvert uses cookies and similar browser storage for a few distinct purposes: essential cookies that keep you signed in and enforce usage limits, preference storage that remembers your language, theme, favourite tools and recent tools, anonymous analytics cookies, and advertising cookies set by Google. Essential cookies are required for the site to function. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, although some features will stop working if you do.

Advertising is what keeps BitConvert free to use. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to BitConvert and other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at https://www.aboutads.info/choices, or, if you are in Europe, at https://www.youronlinechoices.eu. Opting out does not remove advertising; it means the ads you see are no longer personalised.

We rely on a small number of third-party providers: Google OAuth for optional sign-in, Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics, Google AdSense for advertising, and our own cloud infrastructure for file processing and storage. Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share uploaded files with advertisers.

You can access, delete, or export your data, and opt out of analytics and personalised advertising at any time. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you also have the right to object to processing, to request restriction or portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
